CHB FOUNDATION POSTPARTUM DOULA TRAINING

Out postpartum training is for people looking to serve families beyond birth in the energy of non-judgement. The sister training to CHB’s Foundation Birth Training, this immersive program teaches participants everything from newborn care to understanding and supporting the psycho spiritual shifts that occur as both babies and parents are born. From bone broth and belly binding to multiples care and overnight work, we dive into the practical tools you need while underpinning everything with the essential soft skills of holding space, deep listening and maintaining your own self care. This course acknowledges the current paradigm of birth and postpartum and its space in intersectional feminism.

More than just a ‘talking training’ this deeply engaging instruction will include exercises, crafts, role play and other hands on activities to steep the participants in a learning climate that prepares them for immediate work upon completion. Whether you are a birth doula looking to enrich your existing work or feeling called specifically to support families after birth, this training will inspire and excite you about the profound impact of postpartum support.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Between now and the first day of your formal CHB Foundation Postpartum Doula Training, we require that you read 6 books from the reading list plus a PDF that will be supplied to you when you sign up. An essay on each book is required. A personal essay will also be required for a total of 8 short essays.

ONCE YOUR PRACTICAL TRAINING IS COMPLETE

You will have 6 additional months after you complete your training to read and submit essays on 6 additional books.

You will have 12 additional months after you complete your training to attend and provide proof of attendance for your choice of two continuing education classes. Approved list to be provided at your training.

Once all of the coursework and requirements are complete, you will receive lifetime certification as a Postpartum Doula through Carriage House Birth.
